2004 Bad to Horrible AM Radio Reception

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I purchased a 2004 Crossfire in June 2015. The only thing lacking is the
AM radio reception. FM reception is fine. An after-market radio shop said
that the antenna was bad. A new on was installed. AM reception in
marginally better, but still poor. What are your suggestions for a nice
reasonably priced after-market radio? Let's say up to $300. Also, any ideas
for replacement speakers. One seem to have a buzz when bass tones are
played.

I had simular problems and fixes. Shops said one thing and another with no results. One day I inserted a small screwdrive in the radio side antenna and ta-dá - #1 AM. Shop replaced factory antenna wire and connector. Best of luck
