Why does my transmission throw me out of gear when I stop?

Asked by James Jun 17, 2020 at 06:22 AM about the 2004 Chrysler Concorde LXi

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I own a 2004 Chrysler Concorde LXi 6 cylinder. Recently
after driving the vehicle for several minutes, upon coming
to a complete stop, the transmission throws itself into low
gear (so I think) and refuses to shift back up. I literally
have to pull over, throw in park and shut the vehicle off.
Once I start it again it will stop for a couple minutes. I have
no idea why could cause this. I'm getting a normal fluid
reading but code reader is giving me a code for
transmission pressure. Any advice would be great. It's a
high milage vehicle and wasn't well taken care of. 213,000
miles.

I had the same problem and had the solenoid pack replaced and that was the end of the problem. My bill was $633. Good luck.
