2005 chrysler 300 cuts off while driving

Asked by Plong2012 Sep 24, 2017 at 11:32 AM about the 2005 Chrysler 300 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 Chrysler 300 cuts off while driving
without any warning. This has happened multiple
times on a crowed interstate. I'm scared to drive it
because there is no warning when it will happen
agai  but it's the only car I have. I know someone
who  has a recall on their 2005 300 for the exact
same problem but the dealership says my car
doesn't have that recall on it. Any advice would be
greatly appreciated.

have the computer scanned for codes. if nothing shows up, you may have to get someone with an automotive scanner that can read live data. This means that they will hook up the car to their scanner and drive/run the vehicle. when the problem happens, the scanner will show where the problem is.

Same here, 5.7300C, dies, stops. Dealer replaced the fuel pump, $400, after fix, week later, same stop...Dealer said, pump necessary, discussion with NAPA rep said replace the gas cap, which i did....no more problem;....Dealers will scan, but i was not watching them then, and took their word....expensive lesson,,,now i wonder if they even replaced the pump...I found out they have the scan tool and can print out the problems, with service buletins, but they will not do , even if you ask to see it.....they hide, lie, make us poor saps bleed...
