How do i know if a/c compressor is bad??

I have a 1994 Cadillac Seville SLS and when I turn on the
AC it doesn't kick on heater works perfect just no AC tried
to do the freon at AutoZone they checked it and they said
that it's most likely the AC compressor because it wasn't
registering it was just building pressure I want to get a
second opinion before I purchase a brand new AC
compressor and do the work...

If your system charge is within spec, I would suspect either the AC Relay went South or the compressor is faulty. A relay is way cheaper so I would troubleshoot that first. Look in the main fuse block under the hood and see if you can locate the AC relay. If there is a similar one in the block, try swapping it temporarily to see if it kicks the compressor on.
