I can not take the warning chimes another minute on my 2000 Deville . A door is a door, not ajar. Seriously, it goes on too long, too loud and too often when it shouldn't. Can I disconnect it? I am prepared to get rid off the car if I can't get away from the death by toning

Try spraying some WD40 in the door latch sensor maybe dirty thinking the door is still open. No promises but its worth a try.
