Has anyone heard a Clicking noise from trunk?

I just put a new battery in this old caddy today that's been sitting w/o 1 for
a couple months. Immediately started hearing this strange faint clicking
noise coming from the trunk or back seat ????? Cranked it up, stereo
won't turn on still heard it. Turned it off ,took out key, shut the door still
heard it. it is somewhere between trunk and backseat. ANYBODY ??????

On my old Deville it was the electric release unit, it was trying to close an already closed trunk. I took a chance and got a wrecking yard one and it worked fine.
