Lost Key To My 2000 Cadillac DeVille

Asked by Briana Nov 17, 2021 at 04:58 PM about the 2000 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I lost the key to my 2000 Cadillac DeVille can not
find it anywhere. So I am currently stuck with my 2
kids and need to know if there is anyway that I can
start the car without a key. If so please let me know.
Will show proof of ownership if need be. Help
please. Thank you Not sure of the trim type. Idk if
it's a DHS sedan fwd a dts sedan fwd or a sedan
fwd so I just picked one.

I don't think today's ECU Controlled engine systems would start up with no ignition switch key......., You should take ur Cadillac registration, your photo ID and go to the closest GMC dealer, the only ones able to make a copy of that computer coded key you nowhere can't find. Thanks, I hope this help.

No you cannot start it without the correct key, trying to do so will activate the security system and then your stuck. The cheapest will be what we call a smart locksmith, they have the tools and equipment to pick out the key code and then program the system to recognize the new parts. Good luck
