My lady has a 2011 Chevy equinox 2.4l and when
she starts it it sounds like a old truck with duals it’s
super loud and rough running she took it to muffler
shop but didn’t pay attention and I brought home a
new exhaust manifold and she said that’s not it it
was like a big black box which would be intake
manifold, but muffler guy said a lot of models it’s
connexte to the Cadillac converter now isn’t the
exhaust manifold the one that is hooked to cad.
Converter but she says it was towards front
passenger side of her car which is the intake so can
anyone help me understand this

What’s the different symptoms to look for between a cracked intake manifold or exhaust manifold
Your car will be noisy with a cracked exhaust manifold. It might not even run with a cracked intake and it would not be particularly noisier than normal.
I recommend you have a pro fix your car.
I have a 2010 Chevy equinox. When I start the truck its super loud but idles down after about 30 seconds. My muffler is also cracked but I don't think it's the muffler. When I'm driving the truck is quiet. I think I might have a manifold problem but what type of manifold problem? The exhaust manifold, the exhaust manifold gasket or intake manifold?????
Cracked manifold. Amazon has the entire kit for 85 dollars, takes about 2.5 hours to replace. Might have to replace the O2 sensor if the old one has been in for a while. Mine was welded in basically and would not come out.
