Asked by Guru5RX5Z Jan 31, 2018 at 05:56 AM about the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu . All the lights that I mention
above came onto my dashboard . I google the problem
still no help. I took it to the Chevy dealership . It took them
almost two weeks to notify me about the problem. I called
everyday. Finally they said it was a sensor. They replaced
the sensor and it costed me $791. I got my car out the
shop this past Saturday and it was back doing the same
thing on Sunday! I took my car back to them on Monday
now they are saying it’s the throttle body ! Parts cost
$400. Idk whatelse to do because I really can’t afford to
put any more money into that car . I’m not even sure if
they fixed it the first time or did they just get my money.

I'm just saying a honda would be a better choice in cars and the dealer is about the worst place for service , I know a good honest mechanic can be hard to find but that's just the way it is

Did this problem solved? I do have Malibu 2011 LT, and the issue is the same: Power Steering, Service Traction, Service ESC, ESC OFF. The people in the Service centre are not quite sure what is the exact problem, they have however suggested that it might be related to the car battery. Igniting the car machine is quite smooth without any problem to mention. The only consistent issue is that after the above-mentioned messages appear, the steering is very difficult to deal with, just like this has been locked. Kindly share your experience, ideas etc about this.

Take it somewhere other than where you have gone. I had a bad ball joint cause my traction control, power steering and electronic stability control to disable but no check engine light.

I replaced all 15 fuses and 30 fuse and it seems to be working fine. Still, need to clear corrosion on the fuse box.

I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu which I've had a lot of problems with over the year that I've had it spend a lot of time and money back windows won't roll down they'll get stuck doors you have to lock manually radio messes up my AC went out and the scariest thing happened to me yesterday on the freeway I was going about 70 and my whole car disabled shut down steering wheel locked up brakes locked up I could even press on the brakes they were so hard to press luckily I was in the very right lane and the emergency Lane was right next to me so it wasn't that hard to get next to it if my engine didn't disabled I wouldn't have been able to stop the car so I just got home did some research try to figure out what the hell happened and everything pretty much everything you guys are staying on here is what my car is saying the EC light except for mine says engine disabled and it also says engine reduced power the traction light came on and the other day the same thing happened really really quick it was like for a couple seconds but it was saying power steering so that's why I think my power steering locked up on me yesterday so I found out that there is a recall on that whole system and the dealerships will fix it for you for free the system is causing the anti-lock brakes the steering wheel. Disable everything all that stuff is all connected to one thing and they have to fix it so I'm going to give you this website it's called NSTHA you can put in your cars vin and it'll tell you if your car has a recall and witch one hasn't been fixed so plz don't waste no more money they have to fix this problem hope this helped.

I just had the same exact problem, battery light came in first, went to NAPA to get battery tested because I just replaced it in September 2019. Everything was coming up normal, few hours later my dash lit up like Christmas! My alternator took a shit!

So I have a 2015 Malibu has new brakes and rotors put on all the way around didn’t have any problems then a week later and the ABS and traction lights came on and I lost power steering. Took it in hooked to computer only thing that showed up was rear wheel sensor so the reset it text drove 18 miles no problem. Then went a mile the next day and it did it while hooked up to computer shows several codes even the mechanic had no idea what they were. Any ideas
