2011 Malibu Need help I think I'm getting ripped off

so 2 months ago I got a new transmission when I
go to get on the highway its bin shifting at 3.5 to 4
so I took it back to the guy who did the
Transmission and he is telling me I have a major
problem in my engine that is causing this! Before I
got the new transmission I had the car looked over
to make sure it was worth fixing can anyone please
give me advice please
