Blower motor works intermittently

Asked by clshoreview Jan 08, 2016 at 03:31 PM about the 2004 Cadillac Seville SLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 04 SLS's blower motor works intermittently. Sometimes it works, most times not. Seems to be improved by jiggling the wires under the dash. Replaced the motor, did not correct the issue. My question, what does the schematic look like for this motor? It's a 3 terminal motor so I suspect it has an on-board transistor-diode pair for PWM operation of the motor. Tying the transistor gate (almost certainly a FET of some sort if there is a transistor) to one of the other pins should turn the motor on full blast which is fine by me. Anyone know whether it's a N-channel or a P-channel FET?
