A/C on smells like gas

Bought a 2011 Ford Edge just over 3 months. Just
recently with the air on a strange gasy smell comes
through the AC then fades. Noticed the same smell
with no air on after driving it, outside the vehicle?

Might want to check that it isn't the AC itself leaking, the refrigerant can be leaking from the AC evap coil in the heater box. R134a may not have a strong odor, but the PAG oil in it does. Both have an ether like smell or a chemical odor.
