Mine came on last week--the VTM-4 light goes off periodically, but comes back on. I'm going to get it scanned to see what the issue is, but in doing some research it looks like it's time to service my rear differential for the 4WD--I have nearly 150k miles. My check engine light came on just before 75k miles, too, and it was just a reminder for regular service. I'm guessing that's the case this time, too, as we've already had new spark plugs/wire done. Could be an oxygen sensor, too, but not losing any fuel economy.

I just had this happen to me and took it to my local mechanic. I pad for a diagnostic and they determined it to be the spark plugs and plug coils needed to be replaced. The SUV has 155k miles on it and mechanic stated these should have been replaced @ 125k miles.
