You need to have the vehicle scanned for ABS codes to know what the problem is and where to look. Write down the codes. You can have this done at an auto parts store.

I had the same issue with my 2006 pilot. It was the alternator.

Also, I had approximately 145,000 miles. With no acceleration, the car has gone into "limp mode" (allowing you to drive and get off the road ASAP). It can be unsafe if the car does this while driving at high speeds. Have it checked, 90% chance it probably is your alternator. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I have a 2003 Honda Pilot. My lights on the dashboard (VTM-4, ABS, Brake, SRS) started flashing on one day about two weeks ago. This week the car would shut off while I was driving. The gas and temperature hand would drop, radio, A/C would cut off windshield wipers would slow. I tried to crank it today and NOTHING! We thought it could be the fuel pump or a fuse. We have checked nearly everything. Please Help!

I had abs Vtm-4 vsa lights on 2010 pilot. Did a lot of looking and research. Found out this winter with a big snow storm with an abs code the 4WD will not work. These are all linked together. I found an article and YouTube video how to read abs codes by crossing pin 4 with 9 on your ODBII plug. Then watch the flashes on the abs light. That gives you the code. I had 1 long 5 short. Gave me Right rear abs speed sensor signal loss. I found my speed sensor wire had been cut or chewed through. Ordered new put it on and all is good again. Hope this might help others.

To Hondadriver03, your alternator died. I had the same thing. Your radio will die, dashboard lihts will come on one-by-one, and then eventually your car will die from not having any more power in the battery to keep the spark plugs firing.

I have a 2011 Honda Pilot. This winter the check engine light, VTM4 & VSA lights came on. hooked it up to a computer and it said “3rd clutch transmission fluid switch short or stuck on”.....I didn’t take any action and 2 weeks later, on a warm humid day, I put my air conditioning on and my a/c wasn’t blowing cold air. I discovered that the relay switch was blown , thus the compressor would not kick on. I went to a auto parts store and changed the relay. 3 days later every light went off (cleared) on my dash as well as the check engine light. Not sure if it was a strange coincidence or the compressor relay was throwing the aforementioned lights. Needless to say it was the easiest 15 dollar fix and hope this can help someone else with the same issue.

My VTM-4 light and check engine pop up, we change the fluid and the temperature sensor but now the VTM-4 turns on by self, making reductions of speed from 40 to 10 miles for hr anytime here and there. I turn the truck off and turning on again And goes away but and a day o two does the same thing. Any body had the same problem?
