"engine overheating ac turned off" notification on my 2010 silverado

I have a 2010 silverado crew cab, the other night
while driving around town I got the notification
"engine hot a/c turned off" so far diagnostics says
its not the TSTAT, getting a code for a crank shaft
positioning magnent but didnt know if this would
cause the problem? unsure at this point what it
could be. any help? am I lookimg at costly repairs?

If this is a higher mileage vehicle you might be looking at a worn timing chain. If the timing chain is worn enough the crankshaft and camshaft will not be in the proper positions in relation to each other. What code exactly do you have! Anything else going on, like lack of power? That's another symptom of a worn timing chain. Hope that helps! Jim
