Loss of power f150 5.4 engine

I have a 2010 F150 and it has a serious loss
of power issue. This all started about a
month ago when I went to pass someone
and it was real sluggish and feels like the
engine is being held back. Ive replaced spark
plugs and coil packs and still no change. Ive
also drilled holes before my cat converters to
relieve back pressure and see if my cats
where clogged, and still no change. It seems
to be really bad when I put it in 3rd gear.
From a complete stop I can slam on the gas
pedal and it barely creeps in 3rd gear. Im not
much of a mechanic and google most of my
trial and error tgings on my truck. My truck
has 176000 miles and its 4x4 crew cab.

I have the same problem 2010 f-150 XTR 5.4 with just over 100,000 km. Hope to find an answer before taking it in to a dealer
Terry have u replaced O2 sensors? Im thinkn about doing this but just didnt think that was the underlying issue
No, I haven't done anything yet. Was hoping to find someone that already found the problem. But I'm gonna have to do something soon. Really sucks when you need the power to get up and go.

Is yours a 5.4? Mine is doing the same thing. The dealer just did a bunch of crap that didn’t help. Sounds to me like the VCT solenoid got clogged up. But the dealer mechanic insisted this couldn’t be the case on mine since it’s a brand new engine with 10k miles. Look this up for yours. Passing someone could have knocked some sludge loose right into the VCT. One way you can test is to unplug the harness and see if the problem stops.
Search for FPDM problems. This driver module works to adjust voltage to fuel pump to raise and lower fuel pressure. The way its installed promotes corrosion on the lower aluminum case over time.
No i have not. 5 mechanics and $1200 later and still no power upon acceleration. Truck runs fine until you put it under a load or slm the accelerator to the floor, then it just creeps
Tyson I just unplugged my vct sensors and WOW MY TRUCK ACTUALLY HAS GET UP AND GO NOW. Looks like I will be putting new ones on next week but I think you found my problem ole buddy!!! Thank you
I have the same issue on my 05 f150 4x4. The VCT solenoid was the issue, it seems it was broken.

Above the spare tire is a fuel pump driver module that gets corrosion builts up on it. On my truck it wouldn't let the fuel pressure get above 45psi which is basically idle pressure. Im waiting on the part to make sure it fixes it. All my diagnostics point to the FPDM.
