What kind of oil treatment do you use ? Had a bad ticking from my vehicle used Lucas Engine Oil Stabilizer and it took care of that ticking.

Hi I just purchased an 2008 Dodge Charger, I think I got ripped off because I'm a lady. $2800 cash asking price was $2950. I purchased the car because I couldn't afford the other car payments. Because I lost both of my jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic. So my kids and I can have away around. My dodge has a sewing machine / ticking sound when I idle up my car. What can be wrong?

I have the same problem on my 2013 dodge charger that I bought last week from a police auction. Its making a ticking sound. I toke it to dodge dealership and they want $450 to tear the engine parts to determine the exact cause of that ticking noise. $450 is crazy expensive for a diagnostic test but i had to do that since no mechanic wanted to work on it claiming it take 10+ labor hours. The dealer initial thought it might be the rockor arm which would cost between $900-1100 so will see after they they do the test and i will post an update once they tell me what is the exact cause and how much is the cost to repair it. Today is July 6th 2020.

this is an updated about my earlier post about the ticking/tapping sound on my 2013 dodge charger v6. Today is july 6th 2020 I just picked up my car from the dodge dealership service center and after they toke the engine parts out the problem was one faulty rocker arm on the right bank and its $700 to replace it but they advised to replace 12 rockers just to be safe and its only $110 more so I went with that. It toke about 4 hours and they called me to go pick the car. The ticking noise was totally gone and the engine is quite now. I went to mopar web and they have a 10% coupon for service and labor and it worked for me so I ended up paying $770 with all tax total repair prices which is expensive but it was 4 cheaper than what other 3 or 4 mechanics in my town asked for.

Thanks Dudi I've noticed that I tried checking my oil, but the dipstick handle was already broken.. I paid cash for my car I know it's going to come with issues, but no one will change my oil since the dipstick is broken. I politely called the dealership today to let them know how rude it was of them to knowingly sale me a car that I can't get a oil change on. With that being said, the sales person said that my appointment is in the morning so the mechanic can remove the dipstick. If I was a man purchasing this vehicle, that problem would have been fixed before they took the money. I'll let you know when I find out about the ticking sound today is July 6,2020. Thanks for the info it was very helpful to me.
