Why do I keep having to replace my EGR Valve?

Asked by Banditent1000 Aug 01, 2020 at 08:34 PM about the 2010 Ford Explorer XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced my EGR valve 2 times last year. The engine light
is on again and throwing the same EGR valve and MAP
sensor codes. Why does my EGR valve keep going bad? Do
I need to replace it or just clean it? The car is not idling
right, like it wants to cut off. I am afraid I have to replace it
again, but I don't understand why I keep having to replace
it.

I assume the EGR is not your issue then, What is the 4 digit trouble code?
