Should I replace steering column?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was broken into, and radio was stolen. My keys are
missing as well. My uncle proceeds to tear the steering
column apart, drills out the ignition lock cylinder, etc. Its
just completely torn apart. He is going to try to bypass the
alarm system, and then figure out how to start the car
without a transponder key. Would my best bet be to buy a
used steering column with a set of keys already with it? He
just seems like he is making the job harder and more
expensive than it needs to be. Any suggestions? Thanks in
advance!

there is a way to hack the security... he should have looked it up on you-tube before tearing it apart. you just need to know where to place the resistor permanently. this way, it is beyond repair.
