equinox engine

Asked by bandaid Jan 07, 2019 at 09:18 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox 2LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2010 equinox with the awful 2.4 Liter engine. The engine is using a lot of oil and I need to replace. Off warranty so  I am considering putting in a used engine. Does anyone know if a 2.4 motor out of a 2015 or 2016 equinox will work in my 2010. I don't want to replace with an engine from a 2010 or 2011 because those are know for oil issues related to ring/piston wear as well as the timing chain problem. any advise about this??
