2010 Mountaineer ac/heater blows on high and wont shut off

Asked by GuruMLD2 May 17, 2017 at 01:40 PM about the 2010 Mercury Mountaineer Premier AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello I have a 2010 Mountaineer Premier model and the fan for the ac/heater won't shut off or turn down. It blows full force even when I shut off the ac/heater button. Someone disconnected the plug that's located on the passengers side by the glove compartment because I just couldn't stand the consistent loud noise. Any idea on what it could be and how to repair it without going to the dealer?  Thanks.

Your blower motor resistor needs to be replaced. You should be able to do it yourself.

Ok thank you for your answer. Going to see if I can find a video of the repair as I'm not a car gal but willing to try.
