when the oils light on dash come on lit up red is that low oil or low pressure, time to change oil or what is it safe to drive to place to buy oil 1 and 1/2 quarts low

Well, macho, what I do know is that it is not an indicator of oil life left, or time to change. You will be fine driving to get some oil if what you say is accurate and is only 1.5 quarts low. But do so ASAP. I will have to research whether or not your car has a low QUANTITY warning. In either case get that oil in and see if it goes off, if it does then that leads me to believe it is indeed quantity warning.
