Can I put a 2015 v6 camaro engine in my 2010 camaro that has a v6?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Looking to swap out engine, tranny and Cats from a 2015 v6 Camaro into
2010 Camaro that also has a v6?
Will that work?
Will I need to also swap out the CPU?
Any problems getting it smogged in California if swapped?

If you swap everything including the wiring harness, computers, and all the control modules it should work. Now as far as passing testing they can fail it just cause it doesn’t have factory equipment for a 2010 Camaro, but as far as total emissions test it should pass cause it will only be required to meet 2010 emissions standards but you will have 2015 emission calibrations. California is a strange state.

All electronics will have to go with it , IF you get it running right the smog issue shouldn't be a problem but you'll have your share of tech problems I'm sure . It'll be a learning experience
For California Smog, it's going to have to be the same exact engine to pass. Check engine numbers to find out; but there's likely a difference in sensors, at least. Alternatively, you can swap engines, but you have to go through DMV to register any changes so the smog checker knows about the acceptable different readings.
