Crankshaft position sensor

Dodge/Chrysler uses sensors in their systems to tell the engine/transmission when and what to do. If you have an issue with your vehicle, take it to a mechanic who you trust, has been in business for awhile, and is familiar with their systems. In these newer sideways mounted engines, most of the sensor equipment is inside, and is not user friendly.

On the 2012 it is on the transmission bell housing on lower rear area of engine above exhaust pipe near the firewall....Yours is probably similar.
