Why does my oil pressure keep dropping?

Asked by WadeCobb1 Jan 10, 2017 at 07:27 PM about the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just changed my oil pressure sending unit and it
still continues to lose oil pressure. It will go up to
20-30 then slowly go back down to 0.

Did you clean the screen that is under the oil pressure sending unit? That need to be replaced or cleaned. It get all gummed up and blocks the actual oil pressure from reading right.
