Do you hear anything from under the dash when you change the air flow switch from defrost to another position? If not you lost vacuum to the directional flapper

if you're lucky, it is just an electrical problem, and the switch that should be turning the heater valve on is broken-

No noise. Is it an easy fix, fixing the vacume to the directional flapper? Thanks Tom

Depends on your flexibility ,, That vacuum actuator should be under the dash a little to the left of the control , but before you begin doing acrobatics make absolutely sure you don't hear anything because the actuator may be ok but you may have a kinked or restricted vacuum line (if the vacuum hose gets disconnected you should get a CEL or Check engine light so it's more than likely a restricted not disconnected line). With the engine running and all quiet ,no radio, CD etc. in fact I don't think the blower even needs to be on because vacuum controls work from an electromechanical directional switch.

I just got the car days ago, i noticed that the glove box wasn't snaped in all the way. They told me they had just repaired what ever it is that causes that clicking noise under the dash. I didnt think to make sure the heater worked just the ac. So im supposed to take it back for them to fix the dash and now i know what to tell them is wrong to fix the heater. Thank you, you've been very helpful. If they dont fix it ill give it a go.....

I don't think so heater could be blowing cold air, it already becomes hot and there is no chance of blowing cold air if you want cooler then use any cooling system. I recently bought an air conditioner from pickeronline.com site.
