Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I Have a 2009 Ford Escape V6 and had the battery replaced last year. Two
weeks ago i started seeing the battery light come on and off. I searched for a
solution on the net and found a way to check the alternator voltage while
running. "keep pressing on odometer while turning engine on till you see test
then select BAT and you should see the voltage". The Voltage was jumping
from 13.3V to 14.5V and sometimes up to 16.5V and not stable. At some
point i would loose the power steering and could hear a click as it went and
came back. I have just replaced the alternator but now i have a steady
voltage at 13.6V and everything i running fine but the battery light now stays
on all the time. I'm taking the battery to have it checked today, but if anybody
has a suggestion, i would greately appreciate... Thank you !

The wierd thing is that everything is working fine... Battery tested OK, Alternator is testing OK and is charging at 13.8V, everything in the Escape is working fine, but still the Battery light comes on after few seconds after the car is started and stays on. Now i got a new wire harness for the Alternator with the 3pin connector and expecting to replace it this week... Let you know of the outcome...
