Use of battery tenders?

Does putting a battery tender on only the starter circuit battery also charge the
consumables battery?

Probably not. The purpose of the starter battery is to provide enough power to crank the engine. Then the other battery will recharge as necessary to provide the functions that is supposed to.

the two batteries, primary and secondary, are connected to the alternator. But they are separate circuits. You can charge the main battery using the charge-blade under the hood. But you have to access the secondary battery to charge it.
