Headlightst/highbeams '09 Pontiac g6
A few months ago my headligjts/high beams
started acting up no emThey won't work at all. I
even went to replace the bulbs the other day and
the headlights on the driver side started working as
soon I attempted to remove it, SAME thing with the
high Beam on the passenger side but the other two
light still don't work. Then when I shut the car off
and tried turning it back on no lights. So now there
only lights that work ate the parking lights which
are basically useless. What's going on and how do
I fix it or where can I take it 2 get fixed for a fair
price?
Note the diagram. You see the head lamp fuses. Hi and lo beam relays. Use a test light and check voltage and ground circuits for headlamps. You can test for voltage at fuses with headlamps turned on. If no voltage, have to check relay either hi or lo. The relay has two side the switch side, left side in the picture, and the control side, right side in the picture. The control side needs voltage and ground, voltage is fuse protected and hot all. Now the ground, the multifunction switch is involved and so is the bcm. You could pull the relay, either one, use proper jumper wire between terminal 30 and 87, the headlamp should light up? Terminal 30 is hot all the time.
Just to add, usually with any electrical component, I want to check voltage and ground first. Like I said, use a test light.
