What causes a 2009 Lincoln MKZ to leak gas from middle of the car

Car had a gas smell coming from the
middle of the car when crunk along
with a leak that smells of gas

Possible damaged fuel line. Have a mechanic take a look.

What is this "crunk" you are speaking of? Yup, I would say damaged fuel line or hole in the fuel tank.
