2009 toyota camary

I was involved in a wreck the officer gave me a ticket for no lights.I had the ligts
set to automatically  come on and have always worked . Do the lights turn off
after awhile if the engine is not running? The police did not respond  for about
15 minutes are more.

If the key was off the lights should have turned off. If the key was left on the lights may or may not turn off. I would ask a Toyota dealer. Perhaps the cop had other reasons to think your lights were not on?
