My guess would be that your valve seals are bad. If your car has a big puff of blue smoke when you first start it in the morning, that is your first clue. But if it is smoking at high speeds, the oil is getting by the pistons which means you need new piston rings..........

Hurry you might be still under the manufatury warranty. They have a problem that they dont want to admit . Because there have been numerous complaint about the motor consumting a lot of oil..They should have notifies customers of this problem. I went over 60,000 mile last year so i dont qualify but it should be a recall. I heard from someone who works for the dealership that they had a memo. that says there have been complaints on not only Camry but 2007 08 09 avalons thier truck ect,,.The reason they dont want to service it becasue my girlfriend says that they had to almost rebuild her engine. iF I HAVE TO REPAIR IT . the price is 2,400.00 . They sold use lemons they knew of the problem and didnt inform the customer..I KNOW SOME ONE WHO WENT OUT OF TOWN AND BARELY GOT BACK SHE SAID she smell oil burning she had to pulle over to get her check at a place out of town. the man said it was empty. she could have blown her engine..THERE NEED TO BE A RECALL CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER.ASAP AND FILE COMPLAINT.THATS HOW THEY KEEP RECORDS. FOR RECALL.

My 2009 Camry is starting to burn a quart and half every 3000 miles and I have 60,000 miles on mine but dealership seems unconcerned but something needs to be done quick. I informed them of this at 57,000 miles but they acted like no big deal. It also has puff of smoke from exhaust pipe when I start it up. I explained to mechanic at legends toyota and replied the smoke is blue when oil is the problem.

It's a recall for oil consumption for 2008- 2009 Camry Se , it's under warranty, call Toyota Customee service and they will give you a case number and then take your car to Toyota delearship so they can do a oil consumption test , If it fail rest they will put you on a waiting list until parts come in, hope this helps
