trouble light

Asked by GuruBFN1X Jan 21, 2019 at 08:38 AM about the 2008 GMC Envoy SLE-1 4WD

Question type: General

I have a light on in my Envoy, it looks like a engine light with a down arrow, it is not the engine light.  Does anyone know what that means

It means loss of engine power The fault is likely in an electronic system, and GM suggests stopping the vehicle and restarting it after 10 seconds. This may reset the system and thus resolve the issue. If this does not work, see your dealer or authorized service center as soon as possible. The light, in essence an engine seen from the side, is the same as the check engine light with a down pointing arrow to indicate that the power is reduced.

That is reduced engine power light. Usually it indicates a performance issue. It could be a variety of things. See if you can stop by Auto Zone and have them read the codes. It's free!
