Turn the ignition key to position “ON” without starting the engine, If your GMC Terrain has push- button start, press the “Start” button twice without touching the brake pedal. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. Turn the ignition Off

The proper way to do it on an ENVOY, is turn the key to accessory or on without starting. Press the accelerator 3 times within 5 seconds, wait for the oil light to blink. Turn off, then start.
