I'd say it's safe especially if it still stops good, although in the very near future you need new pads and probably rotors too. Call around for cheapest quote. Pretty basic thing cars need from time to time. Could do yourself if your kinda handy.

I can guarantee that by the time you read this you will have ruined the discs for sure. The problem is that it takes almost no time to wreck the discs once you have metal to metal contact which is what the grinding is. Worse, especially with modern discs, you can grind right though the surface and expose the cooling vanes inside the disc. If that happens, you will stop that wheel right now, no warning at all. On the highway, that can cause a serious crash, possibly flipping the car. When brakes grind there is only ONE safe option, and that is the mechanic's shop the next time it is on the road. Either that or call a tow truck.

There is friction material on the pad for a reason. When its gone your stopping distance is nill. Not to mention your ruin things as previously stated. No its not safe to drive unless you dont value your car or peoples lives or your life potentially. Brakes need to work its pretty important you never know whata gonna happen when you get behind the wheel. If you were to wreck and your brakes were in this condition it would be bye bye. Doesnt seem worth it to me.
