warning light and beepin sound

I parked my car, took out the key and now have a flashing red car symbol on
my dash and a reocurring beeping. What is going on?

Sounds like your key lost communication with the vehicle or you somehow triggered the security system. Check the owners manual.

That light & sound are the security system. I'm guessing that you've ignored the dash message, fob not detected for too long and the fob batteries are now dead. You then tried to start the car with a dead fob and the theft-deterrent system thought you were a thief. There are ways to get out of this. Read the owners manual or see a dealer.

Sounds like you're being reminded to set the security system using your fob to lock the vehicle. Jim
