Heat goes away after driving

Asked by Anthony Jan 02, 2019 at 05:08 PM about the 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have now replaced the thermostat twice, the heater core, the water pump,
and the radiator. I still get a lot of heat for about 10 minutes then as you
drive, it gets cold and stays cold. If the vehicle is turned off (then allowed to
cool) I get heat again.

I have also checked the blend door and blend door actuator, and those seem
to be functional. No leaks/antifreeze when the system is closed. Only
thought is I haven't properly bled the system of air. I am at a loss, can
anyone help?

Try bleeding air from system like this remove cap from overflow tank fill with antifreeze to full mark leave cap off and start vehicle and let idle you will notice level in tank start to rise this is normal once thermostat starts to open level in tank will drop add more antifreeze to full mark then put cap back on.
