How do you turn off the check engine light once the problem is fixed?

It goes off by itself. It takes a few driving cycles.

Yep clear it with a scan tool or remove neg. battery cable for a few minutes and reconnect.

Thanks everyone! It went off by itself about four hours later. I saved my daughter a few hundred dollars by changing the coil myself! Still $112 for a lifetime guaranteed coil! :(

That check engine light is a racket and a scam, especially in states that impose an E-check....your emissions could be clean as a whistle but they wont pass you if your "check engine light" is on.a Totally corrupt racketeering.
