What is the cause of the heater to blow cold air when the car is obviously warmed up?

My 08 Milan has started to blow cold air when heat is needed.  I can set
the temp at maximum, in either auto or manual modes and even though
the car is obviously warmed up, I get lukewarm or cold air.  I do notice that
if I run the car at faster speeds I can get the air temperature to increase,
but that is usually temporary, especially if I come to a stop and just idle.
Any ideas where to start with troubleshooting or is there a common part
that is the culprit?   Thanks.   Steve

First check the anti freeze level may be just low if ok replace thermostat.

I changed thermistat also changed hoses bled the hose put heat on high still cold air

AC question for 2007 Merc Milan, short trips AC blows cold, longer trips 1-2 hours AC works great for a while, the stops blowing cold and blows hot. If I cut the unit completely off, still driving, in 15-20 minutes, turn unit back on to AC, bingo, works great again for 1-2 hours.
