If the alternator is good, check the bigger wire from the alternator for continuity, there probably a fuse-able link in the wire that may be burnt out.

I have a G6 that I have to jump off but once I get it running after driving it for a while it turns off and the battery goes dead

Trying to bring this back to life... check the main lead wire to your starter. It took me forever to figure it out but that was my problem. I put new alternator in and didn't fix my problem. Then I started checking for volts and tracing wires.

Been dealing with same issue new battery, new Alt, battery light still on have get jumped from time to time or had hard starts. Throws many codes because things like mass air flow not getting enough voltage. Even once I found the issue there us still 0 articals or information on it and was hard to even google for information on it cause for some reason there isnt any. With that being said I followed the ground wires from battery and found it has a battery current sensor that says when to charge and when not too problem fixed once finally found part name and part number even with that there is literally still no info on internet about it.. will post pic of mine and pic of new one with part number to save everyone else the hassle
