The 2008 PT Cruiser liftgate is inoperative. I have checked the key FOB, drivers door and touchpad.  All door locks work but the liftgate remains locked.  I removed the trim and back panel and manually opened the lifgate.  When I check the connector at the latch there's a constant 10.43vdc.  I removed the actuator and applied 12vdc and the actuator worked as it's supposed to.  I believe the voltage should be at 0vdc until the fob is depressed 2x and then it should be 12+vdc.   Can anyone give me additional information.

Hey Cometguy, thanks but you answered a question I didn't ask. There's no problem with the touchpad, it's been removed from the circuit. The problem is that there's a constant voltage at the latch. Since the actuator requires 10+ volts to flip the latch, this voltage should only be present for a second when the key fob or door lock has been depressed 2x to open the latch . The lift-gate has a lock and release the release is actuated by the touch pad in the handle my touch pad went bad
