I am looking at a 2004 hyundia senta fe to buy and when i put it in gear it dies.
My question is what would cause this an should i buy it?

Do not buy. Even if it was running properly still do not buy.

Nope, don't buy a vehicle that you'll have problems with and be putting money into right out of the gate! Sounds like the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid in the transmission is stuck on. Not worth your time in my opinion, keep shopping! Hope that helps! Jim
