Do you have a code reader to see why the check engine light is on? If not I purchased one from harbor frieght for $50 bucks, it not only reads the codes but also allows you to erease codes and reset the check engine light. I just reset one on my friends 07 911 turbo it was just a loose gas cap.

Could be any number of things. My CEL came on 6 months ago on my 2008 Cayenne S because the thermostat recorded a fault. I reset it with my Durametric cable and it has not come back.
