Knocking noise

I have a knocking on my 02 dodge durango and I've
had people tell me that it was the lifters I've had
people tell me it's a rod and I have absolutely no
IDea what it is. It drives perfectly fine no problems
just had a oil change not too long ago could
someone please help

Anyone trying to diagnose a tick or knock based on a one-paragraph description would just be throwing guesses at you. Needs to be taken to a mechanic for inspection and even then you can't always tell what's bad until you start taking things apart. If you have the 4.7L, it may just be oil starvation especially at startup, as those engines have that tendency - stick to the OEM oil filter and not cheaper aftermarket ones, the OEM ones are better at retaining oil in the block when engine is off.
It was taken to time it lube and my dad checked the oil just now and said they put about 3 courts too many in it would that maybe what's going on
3 qts too many can whip oil up into a froth and deprive motor of lubrication. That can ruin an engine.

to much oil like kenf said or could be lifters. if it sounds like its from the top half of the engine then lifters if it sounds like its just below the top half then wrist pin in your piston if any lower then connecting rod bearing.
