My timing is broken!

My timing belt broke on my 05 Ford Expedition does that
mean the engine is gone

First off, your Expedition uses a 5.4L engine and uses a Timing Chain, not a belt. So if you mean your chain broke, yes. that could mean you have engine damage as the 5.4L is an interference engine. You can have piston and valves that are damaged. I would look to source a used engine if money is tight, or if you really like the SUV, think about a remanufactured one.
