Can you post a photo of the two round pieces of metal? I suspect maybe the oil filter broke?

I agree with TDolby. It had to be a major component since loosing this much oil is very unusual. The filter would be my first suspect. Do you remember running over any debris or may be a large pot hole? A picture would help along with a more detailed description of where the oil came out from.

Thank u both 4 responding unfortunately when I opened up the hood to see if it was the oil filter or if I could see anything else there's a piston sticking out of my engine in other cast metal pieces so I'm assuming my engines no good. I don't understand this I drove it and it been parked for 10 days not started not moved it was very very cold and windy but still how could something like that happen when it wasn't even running. But thank you both again for your answers how I wish it had been what you both thought

Did anyone else have access to this vehicle? Maybe it was run but not driven, and the timing chain let go.
