How to get my Mustang GT to start?

Asked by Bakerp20 Jan 26, 2018 at 08:46 PM about the 2001 Ford Mustang GT Deluxe Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The Mustang was running a couple of months ago.
The guy let it sit with. Ethanol fuel in it. I got it
because he couldn’t get it to start. I figured it was a
a clogged fuel filter so I replaced it. Still won’t start.
Engine turns just fine. I put fresh fuel in it. The theft
light goes out like normal. You can hear the fuel
pump priming when you turn the power on.
Thinking fuel pump my need to be replaced, but I’m
not sure. This is my first foray into a project car.
What do you guys think I need to do to get it
running

It also has a problem draining the battery when it is turned off so I keep it unhooked
