cvt transmission trouble

I just bought a 2007 nissian altima 2.5 on the way home check engine comes
on code p1778 stepper motor. when going over 60 rpms shoot up. would a
trans oil cooler solve rhis problem?

Nope. It’s usually the stepper motor itself but have seen a few with damaged transmission wiring harness.

I personally had a transmission issue of it would not do over 15 miles per hour. The engine would not rev up also had the 1778 code. I replaced the stepper motor and now it works fine. I only have about 10k miles on it since i did this. I hope this helps.
