My 1997 Acura keeps blowing fuses, draining batteries. Cant drive it anymore, no lights, blinkers anything it shut down, HELP
Your vehicle has short ground if you can telling me wich fuse blowing I will help you what you do.
the fuel pump fuse keeps blowing, but it has been replaced many times and now no lights anywhere except the dash lights and dome lights work, strange, and thank you for any help.
Exactly. Those fuse blowing are directly involved, Trace those systems wiring to located the short, if its blowing system fuse not related, locate (wiring diagram) where they come in contact for the short location, also short finders are now affordable (amazon under $30.00).
May be shorting out on frame, a parasitic battery drain test can help locate it, but research correct procedures per your car as some you should not disconnect the battery while testing.
See if your fuse panel under hood & dash are burned up or look like it has been corroded it could be at the fuse panels. Be sure you engine & battery to frame grounds are working/tight/there.
is it very expensive for someone to come to your home to test it for me. I don't know what to do.
is there such thing as a reliable mobile mechanic in Okc, Ok
There is main relay on fuse box pull it out and use automotive test light open the switch with out fuel pump fuse and check how many time the light comes on for all relay pin ...
If you can have someone you trust look it over for you or get towed to a shop. If you do not understand or have the ability (physical) to try to fix yourself. Many shops will look it over and call you to say it needs this or that before fixing and charging, call around for this kind of shop and let them know beforehand you need to know what it needs done before work is done and you need it done but do not give them full reign.
Under hood at main fuse block check the main circuit breakers, may have a burned one by now, since its blowing them repeatedly.
