I just bought a 1999 acura cl 2.3 with 41k miles on it. It was an old lady car. When should I change the timing belt?
inspect the belt, if it looks suspect, get it replaced. A car that old, honestly I'd do a basic maintenance: Air filter, cabin air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, oil change+filter, check brakes/rotors. That should give you peace-of-mind that you've got 2017 parts running those components
You can't tell the condition of a timing belt by looking at it. This vehicle is 17 years old, replace the timing belt.
